It didn't take many minutes Monday afternoon for the Pickens County School Board to unanimously accept a Guaranteed Maximum price of $11,384,252 for the construction of a new Dacusville Elementary School.
The GMP, submitted by Toccoa, GA -based Bowen & Watson, Inc. will even include two additional kindergarten classrooms, according to Bob Folkman, the district's building program administrator.
Folkman told trustees he was "pleased to recommend to the board, without reservation," the GMP submitted by the Toccoa company.
Folkman said Bowen & Watson will soon begin lining up subcontractors, and construction is expected to start on the new school in early December.
The 97,496-square-foot school will be able to handle 750 students, according to the district's Web site.
The school is slated to open in August 2011.
