The Build Georgia Awards Program, developed by Georgia Branch, AGC, marked it's 21st annual award program to recognize and honor construction excellence and the construction teams for their outstanding performance.
Bowen & Watson, Inc.'s Archer High School was among those nominated for this year's award. Intense planning by the project team, in a tight manpower market, made the Archer High School a success. After overcoming 91,000 yards of rock excavation, the project caught up the lost time quickly and remained on schedule until completion.
Such a large project demanded and received the best personnel from the subcontractors. For many months there were well over 200 men on the job each day. Coordination and safety were paramount. With man-hours in the neighborhood of ½ million, it was remarkable that no lost-time accidents were reported for this project!
